23 posts · Joined 2009. #14 · Apr 13, 2009. G'day i had a similar problem with my 03' Z4. The roof wouldnt open & a red light appeared, so i took it to the dealer & he said it was a microchip that needed to be replaced, once that was replaced i havent had any problems. Cost was $220.00AUD.
I've just fitted a Pioneer DEH-X8700DAB into my Z4C - I liked this model as it does everything and has a dual rotary controller to do most functions rather than lots of fiddly buttons. The illumination colour can also be changed to match the BMW orange/amber. With an adaptor lead it is also linked to the MFSW buttons.
